Unveiling Your Worth: A Journey of Self-Discovery

In our ongoing exploration of worth and wellness, you might be wondering: How do I even know if I struggle with worth? Well, the it looks different on every woman, but here are some common examples:

  • Settling in Career or Relationships: Accepting less than you deserve in your professional or personal life.

  • People-Pleasing or Self-Neglect: Prioritizing others' needs over your own or struggling with self-care.

  • Perfectionism or Procrastination: Setting impossibly high standards or putting off tasks due to fear of failure.

  • Difficulty Making Decisions: Feeling paralyzed by indecision or seeking external validation.

  • Poor Body Image or Health: Struggling with negative body image or neglecting your physical well-being.

  • Emotional and Financial Well-being: Experiencing challenges in managing emotions or finances.

So, how can you improve your sense of worth? There are countless paths to explore:

  • Set Standards: Define your values and boundaries to honor your worth.

  • Practice Self-Compassion and Reflection: Be kind to yourself and engage in self-reflection to cultivate self-awareness.

  • Appreciation Practice: Focus on gratitude and acknowledge your strengths and accomplishments.

  • Seek Help/Support: Reach out to trusted friends, family, or professionals for guidance and encouragement.

I have practiced all of the above and have found my lasting sense of worth by intentionally taking care of my mind, spirit and body.

But remember, none of these practices are necessary to validate your worth. You are inherently worthy from the moment you're born. However, life experiences and societal influences may lead us to question our worthiness over time.

And so while we shouldn’t have to, many of us need to prove or show ourselves that we are worthy. And we often do this by:

  • Jobs, titles and credentials

  • Through relationships

  • Achievements

  • Cars, homes, attire

All things that can be taken away.

All things that leave us feeling unfulfilled and looking for a sense of worth.

You know why?

Because even after we’ve achieved them, if we are not healthy and comfortable in our body we know and feel that something is missing.

We may be ‘successful’ to the worlds material standard, but deep inside we know we could be better to ourselves.

Our health, or lack thereof, is either a dark cloud or a shining light hovering over the entirety of our lives.

What if we invested even a portion of that energy into ourselves?

What if we decided our worth came from how well we could treat ourselves?

What if we woke up and faced every day as a woman who literally worships herself?

How proud of ourselves would we be?

How easy would it be to be genuinely happy with life?

How unbothered would we be?

Would we carry our head a little higher?

Walk with a little more swish in the hips?

Would we radiate greatness from the inside, instead of trying to wear it on the outside in the form of clothes, cars or career success?

The irony being that obtaining the material stuff is so much easier when it’s pursued from a place of wholeness and taking care of yourself, but we seem to want to save taking care of ourselves until AFTER the material success…but I digress.

A beautiful starting point to increasing your sense of worth is with YOU.

What if 2- 4% (30-60 min) of our day went into moving our body?

We have to eat anyway, so what if it was with intention instead of convenience?

What would happen if we spent less than 1% (15 min) of our day intentionally connecting with ourselves/God/Source/Universe?

What if we consistently gave our body the rest it needs?

How would your sense of worth increase, if you made YOU a priority?

As mentioned above, there are lots of ways to improve self-worth.

I have found that the quickest, easiest and most effective way starts with Self.

Literally giving your body the best you can.

And because it’s a one on one with yourself, you can be consistent with your practice.

There are no barriers that cause derailment in a relationship with Self.

Worth is non-negotiable.

Our health and wellbeing cannot exceed our sense of worth.

Achieving and maintaining results are dependent on the belief we are worthy of them.

Take this moment to check in with yourself.

Close your eyes, drop your shoulders away from your ears, straighten your back, inhale through your nose, exhale through your mouth feel and into your heart…

Listen to what it’s telling you.

Maybe you got this, and this was just Divine confirmation of the path you are already on.

Or maybe you feel a tug, a pull, an urge to accept this is as a Divine invitation.

Maybe you are ready to worship the Divinity of you.

This is what living Ori Ara feels like.

And this is just the beginning.
