The Divinity of Discipline

Happy Summer Solstice!

What a beautiful time of the year to be more intentional with and deepen the relationship with our Divinity.

Our Spiritual journey often includes a desire for connection.

We desire connection with our Creator.

Sometimes we seek oneness with the Divine, as though it lives outside of ourselves.

How amazing would it be to experience Divinity from within?

What if all we had to do was turn our attention to it?

What if the deeper connection with Source could be found in devotion and discipline to your Self?

Did you know the root word for discipline is ‘Disciple’?

The word "Disciple" originally comes from the Latin "discipulus," which means "learner" or "pupil."

In ancient times, a Disciple was a student who followed and learned from a teacher, often in a religious or philosophical context.

To be a Disciple and be disciplined in the study or practice of something was to be highly regarded.

Unfortunately, over time the word has evolved to take on a negative connotation.

The modern day definition of discipline is “the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience”.

Damn.  No wonder modern society has no interest in being disciplined.

The Summer Solstice brings a sense of expansion and renewal and it is a beautiful time to revisit the Divinity in discipline.

Discipline is actually a beautiful way to experience life.

We can be a Disciple of our health and happiness by intentionally bringing our energy to and engaging with it.

We can bring our awareness, the consciousness of life, to the practice of our wellbeing.

We can be present with ourselves, which is the only place where healing can take place.

And lets note that we are already Disciples.

The question is, Disciples of what?

We are Disciples of…

  • Religion

  • Other people's business

  • Our work/careers

  • Celebrity news/gossip

  • Social Media

  • Music

  • Spouse/Partner/Kids/Pets

  • Conspiracy theories

Right?  These are just a few things we give our steadfast attention to learning.

These are areas in which we exercise discipline by intentionally and consistently bringing the consciousness of our life to them.

What would happen to the quality of your life, if you became a Disciple of yourself?

Remember…you ARE an aspect of the Divine.

Embracing discipline to honor your physical form is being a Disciple of the Divine…after all, we are made in its image.

Let the this post and the onset of summer (the literal and metaphorical expansion of light into our lives) be an invitation to explore the Divinity of discipline.

Sis, you are an earthbound Goddess.

Treat yourself accordingly and watch your entire life begin to reflect your Divinity.

We are in the month of June and our 3rd Pillar of Wellness - Discipline.

Discipline is the final Pillar(after Worth and Trust) in the realm of the Mindset.

Next month we enter July and the 1st of three Pillars in the realm of Spirit.
