The Body is Either a Portal or an Obstacle
How does Spirit communicate with us?
The same way everything else communicates with us.
Through the body.
We interpret and understand our world through our senses.
Yes, senses.
As in sensing something.
Does that make sense?
We think of our 5 senses as 5 body functions…Taste, Touch, Smell, Hear and See
But our 5 senses are actually 5 aspects of consciousness.
At one time there (like back in the 1500’s) it was said that we had 7 senses.
Muscular sense and inner sense were included.
And these 7 senses were considered “consciousness in its totality”
And origin of the word “sense” is from much farther back….to 12c Latin
Originally ‘sense’ was defined as ‘perception’.
And then 14c’ sense’ was defined as ‘interpretation’ especially of Holy Scripture.
Somehow that definition got lost over time...we tend to think of our senses as being strictly objective and factual.
And these days we only believe in 5, maybe 6 senses if you consider yourself Spiritual.
Wow….little do we know they are ALL spiritual!
We are comfortable believing that the 6th sense is our intuition, the voice of God, synchronicity, third eye, discernment, download, etc.
We attribute more spirituality to our 6th sense because we don't really have a physical body part identified with it.
But what if we began to truly appreciate our 5 other body senses for the spiritual communication devices they are?
Our physical senses are physical aspects of consciousness and the portal for Spirit.
Having a loving relationship with our body is nurturing the communication between ourselves and the Divine.
Our body is an antenna and how we care for it is how we tune into the voice of Source Creator.
However, falling out of love and leaving the relationship with our body can make everything less clear.
Having a body that is neglected, malnourished, has aches and pain, dulled by medications, inflamed, low energy, needs rest, dehydrated, chronically sad or depressed, lacks mobility, etc. is altering our senses.
It is altering our consciousness.
When we choose to live with these types of chronic conditions we are creating interference with our antenna to Spirit.
And this is why we are to treat our body like a Temple.
As above, so below…
If falling out of love with our body interferes with our spiritual world, next is interference in our physical world.
An unloved body becomes an obstacle to enjoying life to the fullest, when it could be a portal to infinite possibilities.
Let your body take you there…
Wherever there is.
