Your Body is Divine

Being disciplined with our body is an act of devotion to the Divine.

Discipline is NOT

  • punishment

  • restriction

  • denial

  • sacrifice

  • pain

Discipline does not mean "I can't ___”

Discipline means "I choose not to"

Discipline does not mean "I have to ___ ".

Discipline means "I want to ___ ".

Remember…we have reframed discipline.

Discipline means remembering and protecting what we desire the most.

It no longer means “punishment to correct disobedience”

“I ate too much” – disobedience. “So, I need to starve/detox” – punishment.

“I didn’t workout today” – disobedience. “So, I need to do extra fasted cardio tomorrow” – punishment.

That is a self-defeating and depressing cycle.

This is 2024.  We have evolved.

Now that we are learning better, it is time to do better.

Re-framing discipline allows us to enjoy the process of giving ourselves what we desire the most.

And when what we desire includes a healthy fit body and physical, emotional and mental wellbeing in life, then discipline becomes an act of devotion to our Divinity.

Now, let’s be real…

Being disciplined can be hard to start.

This is mostly because we live a lot of our life on automatic pilot.

So much of our society is built on distracting us away from deliberate, intentional thought and instead encouraging easy, automatic decisions.

We literally live in a world that is built on destroying our motivation for discipline.

So this means we need to be that much more in tune with ourselves.

Now, with this awareness, let's switch our mindset from automatic to manual mode.

Let’s get behind the wheel of our life and FEEL the shifts that need to be made and make them.

Let’s give ourselves grace and patience as we navigate this new journey at this age, with these life circumstances.

Let’s be alert and aware as we drive through the twists and turns, knowing the changes that need to be made when we go uphill and then the inevitable downhill shift.

The changes we experience on this journey do not mean failure and don't have to be frustrating.

Like any journey, the landscape is going to change.

And because this is not about the destination, the changes we experience make it a legendary story in the book of our life.

Now, think about the ways you’ve put your body on automatic pilot and how you can switch into manual mode.

We are in the month of June and our 3rd Pillar of Wellness - Discipline.

Discipline is the final Pillar(after Worth and Trust) in the realm of the Mindset.

Next month we enter July and the 1st of three Pillars in the realm of Spirit.
