Breathe...Create a space between stimulus and response
A deep breath is a moment.
An important moment.
In that moment we create a space in which we have a world of options.
That moment creates the space between what we are being stimulated by and our response.
It is in that space that we can become present.
It is in that space that Spirit speaks.
It is in that space we respond not react.
When we have a craving (stimulus) take a deep breath.
This is a moment to create space before we grab the donut or eat the entire bag of chips (reaction).
And instead, maybe drink some water or start preparing dinner (response)
When we are tired after work (stimulus) take several deep breaths.
This is a moment to create space before we grab our phone and doom scroll for hours (reaction).
And instead, maybe take a walk or hit the gym (response).
Our breath, our new BFF, not only signals to our body that everything is ok, but it is also an invitation to RSVP for a better quality of life.
Our breath not only soothes and supports our physical, but it enhances our mind and improves our rationale.
Deep breaths help us make decisions that are in our best interest and bring us closer to who we really are.
