Elevate your consciousness and wellbeing. Breathe.
Let’s elevate our consciousness and enhance our well-being.
Try any or all of these simple breathing techniques to create space, become present and co-create.
These practices deepen our connection to our body and Spirit.
Start with short sessions and gradually increase the duration as you become more comfortable with each technique.
Breath Focus:
Find a quiet place to sit or lie down comfortably.
Close your eyes if it helps you relax.
Breathe naturally and pay attention to your breath as it goes in and out.
Notice how your chest and belly move with each breath.
If your mind wanders, gently bring your focus back to your breath.
Practice for a few minutes, gradually extending the time as you get more comfortable.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation:
Find a quiet space where you can lie down comfortably.
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to relax.
Start by tensing the muscles in your toes and feet as tightly as you can, holding for a few seconds.
Release the tension suddenly and feel the relaxation flow through your toes and feet.
Move slowly up your body, tensing and then relaxing each muscle group (calves, thighs, abdomen, chest, arms, etc.).
Breathe deeply and focus on the sensation of relaxation in each muscle group.
4-7-8 Breathing:
Sit or lie down in a comfortable position.
Place the tip of your tongue against the ridge of tissue just behind your upper front teeth (you’ll keep your tongue in this position throughout the exercise).
Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whooshing sound.
Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of 4 seconds.
Hold your breath for a count of 7 seconds.
Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whooshing sound, to a count of 8 seconds.
Repeat this cycle for four breaths initially, gradually increasing to eight breaths.
