Challenge #1 - Sleep Challenge

“Eat better or workout more and you’ll see the benefits weeks, months or years down the road. Sleep more and you’ll see the benefits tomorrow”

For our first challenge I want to keep it simple yet effective!

Hands down, of all self-care routines sleep is the most underrated but most potent.

So, to get our challenge feet wet, we are going to start by making sure we get a good night of 8 hours of sleep. That means we are in bed, head on the pillow, phone put away, tv off, book down, kids tucked in, face washed, prayers/meditation done and eyes closed ready to rest.

Additional Supports to Help You Sleep

  1. Meditation: Practice a guided meditation focused on relaxation and letting go of tension. This can help quiet your mind and prepare your body for restful sleep.

  2. Breathwork: Engage in deep breathing exercises to calm the mind and body. Focusing on your breath can reduce anxiety and promote a state of tranquility.

  3. Sleep Hygiene Tips: Create a nighttime routine that promotes quality sleep. Limit screen time before bed, establish a calming environment, and maintain a consistent bedtime to signal to your body that it's time to wind down.

  4. Journal Before Bed: Take time to journal before bed to release the day, move on, and give thanks. This practice helps you process your thoughts and emotions, allowing you to let go of any stress and cultivate a sense of gratitude.

  5. Dream Journal: Keep a journal on your nightstand to write down your dreams upon waking. This not only helps you capture your dreams but also encourages reflection and insights about your subconscious mind.

  6. Magnesium Before Bed: Taking magnesium before bed can support relaxation and improve sleep quality. This mineral helps calm the nervous system, making it easier to drift off and stay asleep throughout the night.
