Time Under Tension (TUT) = Growth
But not just in fitness… in life, too.
My bodybuilding days and Personal Trainer Certification taught me that to build strength, muscles need time under tension (TUT). To reach hypertrophy (muscle growth), we intentionally keep the muscle under tension for 40-60 seconds, moving slowly and with control.
Why? Because slowing down allows blood flow to pool in the muscle belly, feeding it the nutrients it needs to grow. While most people focus on lifting heavier or doing endless HIIT workouts, true growth happens through slow, controlled lifts.
And ironically, the same is true for life.
Time Under Rest.
To create the luxurious, peaceful, and abundant life we desire, we must learn to actively engage with rest—not just when we’re exhausted, but as a practice.
Just like in strength training, slowing down and moving with control and intention allows growth to happen. Instead of nutrients fueling our muscles, Divine energy fuels our thoughts, our creativity, and our ability to receive.
And just like TUT is underrated in fitness, intentional rest is underrated in success. In a world that glorifies “doing the most,” we forget that real expansion happens in the stillness.
What would happen if you gave yourself more time under rest?
