When the Body Talks We Need to Listen

Maintaining connection with our body is essential to our spirituality, consciousness and physical well being.

Our bodies are magical.

They are designed to feel good and liberate our Spirit.

Spirit did not come into our body to be confined.

Spirit desires to be set free and experience all that life and a body has to offer.

So our body is also an incredible connector and communicator.

Our bodies are quite literally made to connect with the Universe inside and outside of us.

Our bodies are equipped with a very sophisticated and urgent communication system.

And our body is ruthless in its attempt to get our attention.

So when our body speaks, we need to listen.

And take a genuine interest in understanding it.

Now, learning how to read these messages may take a little bit of time.

Not because the messages aren’t clear, but because we aren’t used to paying attention to them.

For example…when we have a headache, we automatically take a pain reliever.

It’s a response without much conscious thought.

But when we are more curious and pause to reflect on our nutrition, water intake and rest recently, we arrive at the root issue to solve for.

Think about the fact that some people never get headaches because these are already good habits.

While others suffer from frequent headaches without understanding why.

And not only does taking the pain reliever hit the mute button on the original message, the pain reliever further weakens the connection with the rest of our body.

That’s it’s job.

Pain relievers, by design, disconnect us from the pain, which is our body’s way of communicating

So, it not only makes the pain in our head go away, but it disconnects ALL of communication in the body.

The challenge is pausing long enough to ask ourselves a few questions before medicating and dulling the symptoms of dis-ease in our body.

Similarly, we’ve normalized our disconnection with rest.

Think about it…

What happens when we say “I’m exhausted”?

We get sympathy, empathy and have a bonding moment with the other person.

However, if we said what is actually happening…

“I am shutting down the production of red blood cells that carry oxygen to all my important organs and because of that I feel tired”

…we would probably receive a very different response.

We all would definitely be more concerned and cautious.

However, this is EXACTLY what happens when we are chronically tired.

Yet when we talk about being tired, to ourselves or others, it’s normalized, ignored or dismissed.

And then treated with caffeine.

Reflect on your responses from the previous post and consider the potential messages attempting to be communicated.

Will you take time to listen and respond to these messages?

Are you interested in restoring or improving your connection with your body?

Let’s connect with our body.

Make it a part of our belief system.

And elevate our spirituality, consciousness and physical well being.
